Starting June 15, 2026, all incoming visitors to Batanes, whether for tourism, official business, or other purposes, are required to pre-register through the SMART Tourism Registration System prior to arrival.
This initiative is in accordance with the Province of Batanes’ commitment to sustainable and low-impact tourism, recognizing Batanes as the ancestral home of the Ivatan indigenous people and a protected area in its entirety. The system also strengthens visitor safety, emergency response, and tourism management, considering Batanes’ unique geographic location and weather conditions.
